Mazda Motor Corporation has officially introduced its new battery electric vehicle, the Mazda CX-6e, marking a significant expansion of the company’s global EV portfolio. The electric crossover SUV made its world debut at the Brussels Motor Show 2026 on January 9 and is scheduled to go on sale in Europe by summer 2026, followed by a launch in Australia later this year.
The CX-6e is Mazda’s second globally introduced collaborative battery EV, following the Mazda 6e electric sedan. It builds on the foundation of the Mazda EZ-60, which was showcased at Auto Shanghai 2025, and has been developed in collaboration with Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd.
Design Meets Electrification
Designed under the philosophy of “FUTURE + SOUL x MODERN,” the Mazda CX-6e blends sculptural aesthetics with advanced electric vehicle technology. As a crossover SUV, it aims to cater to a wide range of lifestyle needs while retaining Mazda’s signature design identity.
The vehicle also continues Mazda’s commitment to “Jinba-ittai”, or the sense of unity between car and driver. Handling and ride comfort have been specifically tuned to suit European market preferences, ensuring engaging driving dynamics even in an electric format.
Advanced Technology and Safety Features
The CX-6e comes equipped with a range of intelligent mobility technologies, including voice and gesture recognition, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and digital side mirrors, depending on the variant. These features are designed to enhance safety, comfort, and overall user experience.
Strengthening Mazda’s EV Lineup
Mazda’s electric strategy has already seen positive momentum in Europe. The Mazda 6e, a mid-size electric sedan launched in September 2025, has recorded over 7,000 cumulative sales to date. With the addition of the CX-6e, Mazda is further strengthening its battery EV offerings to meet growing customer demand in key global markets.
