According to the footage circulating online, the electric bike was parked by the roadside outside the school when thick white smoke began emerging from beneath the seat.

Just as the man held his three-year-old daughter and prepared to set off, flames erupted near the scooter’s under-seat area.

The parent quickly pulled his child to safety and moved away from the vehicle.

Bystanders then rushed to douse the fire with water, averting further escalation.

The video, shared widely on platforms such as X and Instagram, shows the rapid development of the incident and reflects growing public concern about the safety of electric scooters on Indian roads.

Some social media users called for greater regulatory oversight and stricter quality control measures for EV manufacturers following the incident.

At the time of publication, Ola Electric has not issued an official statement regarding the cause of the blaze or the safety status of the vehicle involved.

Investigations into similar events often focus on potential battery faults or thermal runaway in lithium-ion cells, though no conclusive cause has been confirmed for this particular fire.

Fortunately, neither the parent nor the child sustained injuries, and no other casualties have been reported.

Local authorities and safety experts are expected to review the case to determine what factors may have contributed to the sudden ignition.
